New Babies

Last weekend we had 2 new hatches, and gave 5 away to a good home. Two of the three babies and Harley and Ripley's last three, I guess this is why we don't name them for a while. I'll post some pic's later, but all the babies look alike, until their feathers start to grow. Three eggs still to hatch.

Pictures From July 6, 2008

Sunshine after feeding. Look how full they are!

Sunshine again protecting her young.

We do have some budgies too. Here's 4 of 7.

Here's Tater again, all grown up. Kinda.

Snooky on the water bowl.

I got Tater on my finger. He's pretty tame and will whistle back.

Babies and eggs getting some rest. Eat and sleep is all they know. For now.

Random Pictures

Snooky, a brother (Chewie or Buoy) and Harley

Avenger. I call him Vinnie.

Pearl, our oldest bird. We've had him the longest. He can sit on a perch or on a ledge of his food or water bowl, but if he is on something flat he will just flip head over heals every time he tries to walk without being able to hold on with his feet.

Pooky Dot on top.

Pooky Dot again

Snooky and his brother.

Inside the cage.

Lulu in front. Pearl still whistles for Lulu. Vinnie in the back on the right.

Tater and Butter. Tater is our first albino. Butter is with our friend, Mr. Forester in an outside aviary.

Tater and Butte, a little older. Lqannette spritzed them with some water.

The new batch. See the albino on the left.

Harley, the dad. Every feather is always perfect and he is so regal. Reminds me of a sgt. major I once knew.

Harley and Ripley's chicks are Jack and Jill, Snooky, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Chewey, Bouy, Pooky Dot and 2 more. We wait on naming the chicks until we are sure if we are going to keep them. Sometimes we give them to friends (Jack and Jill was given to somebody we didn't know, but he had lost his bird, It flew the coop.) We got our first eggs last spring (2007).

New pictures

Hi, since the last post we've had 3 new chicks hatch from Bippy & Sunshine with 1 egg still being sat on. Of the 3 sets that Bippy & Sunshine have given us, we have had 3 albinos, 1 in each set. They are solid white, void of color. Two of the three have had pink eyes when they are open. The 3rd is still less than a week as of today.

Another couple, Vinny (Avenger) and Lulu have laid 2 eggs but they are probably not fertile. Harley and Ripley's (named that because she is bald) 3 have been winged. Pooky Dot is the first that we've had with her colors, a lot of gray and yellow, almost a pookie dot.

I've also added older pictures, so hopefully all the older will be first. Lqannette did the labels at Flickr, as I have a rough time keeping up with them.

I hope everybody had a nice 4th. Between the heat and the smoke (it's not too smoky but our view of the valley is diminished by the haze.

PS. I probably should have posted this after posting the pictures. I'm still learning.
